Amy Keene and I played softball together from age 9
on the Sluggers thru our Westminster High School
and travel ball days when we were 18.
Her son, Logan, was born on July 18, 2007
with a large omphalocele, which means
that some of his organs protrude through his
abdominal cavity, which didn't close properly
when he was developing. He has defied all odds
and has made it this far (he's a fighter!),
but it's not over yet. Amy has decided that
in Logan's best interest, she will have to give up
her career as a teacher to care for Logan while he is
in the hospital. This means that the family income
will be cut in half and the household bills might not
be covered, not to mention Logan's overwhelming
hospital bills. Amy's friends and family (including myself)
have been praying for Logan since before he was even born
and we want nothing more than for him to recover,
which is why we are doing what we can to relieve the
Keene family of some of those financial burdens.
This is just my way of helping and I hope that you will
find it in your heart to contribute to Logan's recovery.
